Webster - The Amazing Photo Bomber

Charlotte & Webster continue to be gorgeous. They are the sweetest pair. Quick to purr - and it's sustained.

They also play quite a bit which is very comical. I've included Webster (and my hairy pants - I have been on the floor) in his pounce pose - just before he flew over my crossed legs & landed on The unsuspecting Charlotte.

Charlotte loves to play - she loves a lil' toy mousie and a lanyard ;). Loves a lanyard.

And Webster is a major photo bomber.

I also catch them snuggling bet I can never seem to get a picture! I'm on a mission!

Totally still looking for a home ;)

Introducing Charlotte & Webster

This is my first post about my fosters Charlotte and Webster. I love them. I LOVE them.

Webster and Charlotte are awesome. They're good with other cats, dogs, and my pet rabbits with whom they share a room for the time being! Like I said awesome.

Charlotte likes to feel safe and secure. Do you blame her? She was living on the streets and its understandable. But it doesn't take her long at all to feel comfortable. It really doesn't.

When I go in and sit with them, Little Miss Charlotte will come out and rub her little face all over my hand - purring madly. She will pull my hand to her face with her paws. I can't tell you how gorgeous this is. How could you not fall in love with that?

Webster loves playing - whether its a cat toy or a simple rolled up ball of paper. He loves to play ... he's alert, playful, agile, and makes you laugh and smile. They will also play with each other which I am sure to share with you in time ...

I am so blessed to have these gorgeous little ones in my care. I really am. (Thank you Starfish Animal Rescue)

I'd like to point out here that Webster loves to headbutt your camera hand so getting face shots of him can be a challenge ...

Obviously a super clever cat ;)

Ok, time for some sookie kitten lovin'

50 Shades of Tabby

I am an early childhood teacher and I work full time. I blog about teaching. I also write and am in the process of a few other projects. I share my life with dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds. And when I can,  I foster.

In 2013 I started officially fostering because early one morning on Facebook I saw a face that I fell in love with. His name was Felix and he was shared on Starfish Animal Rescue's page. He looked like my tabby-boy Cody who I adore in the biggest way. I wanted Felix to be safe. I wanted him to have a family who would love him as much as I love my boy Cody. It was getting desperate, the time was ticking away. He was going to be killed, and I was ready to fly out the door at the last minute to adopt him and then try to rehome him myself! Starfish Animal Rescue however stepped up for him and took him in. She also was in love with him (he had gorgeous feet as well as a gorgeous face!). With supervision and mentoring from SAR I was able to give Felix a home. I will tell his story in his own post because his story deserves to be told.

I am playing the smallest part in rescue. I am doing this because I don't have the power to change the system alone. I am doing this because I think they all deserve a chance. I am doing this because I don't have copious amounts of money that I can give to others. I am doing this, because emotionally I can't handle visiting pounds and shelters, knowing that those who don't get rescued or adoption will die.

Those are the facts. The cold hard horrible facts. They DIE. They aren't "put to sleep" - They are killed. The apathy of society and the current legislation both on state and national levels are abhorrent to me. The millions of animals that have already been killed weigh heavily upon my heart.

I give massive amounts of credit and respect to those who run and work in rescue and do the heavy (both physical, mental, and emotional) hands on work.
