When a BroCat loves a BroDog

Webster aka Webby LOVES Brodie. He seeks his dog-brother out and loves him up.

Makes me melt.

Big Bear

I have an accidental spare cat ... He deserves better than what he's been given in life so far.

So he's currently in my bathroom curled up inside a padded igloo.

I have no idea how old the big boy is. He's a SOLID tomcat with secondary sex characteristics - in other words face shields and thick neck. His face is twice the size of my Cody-Cat's face!

Today at the vet I wanted to get him desexed. But I realised last night that he was suffering an infection. I could see him moving more stiffly in the light, holding one of his back legs uncomfortably, and his nose was warm. So instead I had him tested for FIV (positive) and Leukaemia (negative) which now gives me an idea of where he is. He also has inflamed kidneys. He's had a long acting antibiotics, mild anti-inflammatory, and flea treatment. As he's FIV positive I can't let him back into the neighbourhood ... So, I get to reconsider things. Either find him a home where they are willing to take in a sook, or see about building the cat run I was thinking about down the side of the house.

Anyway ... Here's Big Bear ... Previously Mr. Peepers the Tom Cat ...

Here's the rest of the mob showing a great deal of interest in the furry person in our bathroom ...

Then Big Bear settled down ...

So turns out that this total Tom Cat is also the biggest sweet heart. He is friends with my neighbours cat. Not a fan of dogs (especially since the neighbours Am-Staff X Staff (big massive horrible boofhead) attacked this poor guy and had him in his mouth and shook him ... Turns out he's gorgeous and sweet (As well as smelly and intact and dirty and in such poor condition.)

So ... here we are.

I'm certifiably insane.

Charlotte & Cody

Love.

Cody is chilling out more and more.

He's still The Sherriff in town.

And of course bum to bum with Brodie.

Bad Boys Bad Boys Whatcha Gonna Do?

Cody my beloved leading his little 'foster' brother astray ...

Cody likes to raid the pantry ... Nap on the quinoa and freekah.  I can't make this up.

Love my boys.

Riduculous Brother Cat/Dog Love

So I'm on the lounge recovering from a car accident (not my fault - but crap it hurt) ... And these two are on my blanket. Seriously. No. Shame.

Webby loves his Brodie.

Al's Quiet on Easter Night

Each night these are my companions ... Charlotte perches up top, the boys sleep in varying degrees of together.

See what love you get from a colony cat?

Priceless.

Sweetness

Sharing a dog bed ... They still share cuddles.

I'm glad we kept them together.

Failure.

So. Charlotte and Webster have been her for about 5 months.

When I find time I will update. I'm not sure what this blog will become.

But. I have decided to keep Webster and Charlotte.

They are no trouble.

They are beautiful.

They are sweet.

They have shown such compassion and love for my dog Brodie who was grieving for our beloved Dally our rescue Dalmatian who passed away on the 15th of January.

So far no one has proven to be a suitable home for them and I know that the longer they stay here the harder it would be for me to say goodbye.

I'm especially fond of Charlotte. It wasn't planned. She just melted into me and I into her.

So that's it.

I'm a foster failure.

The Three Amigos

So what started out as me on the lounge became me on the lounge with the dog. We were then joined by Charlotte. She nose to nose with Brodie. For a cat who was terrified of dogs, she's VERY fond of Brodie. She often seeks him out and rubs against him.

These two then settled down to sleep. Charlotte did adjust herself on the satin embroidered pillows, and both she and Brodie engaged in some self-grooming. Bit sweet.

Then along came Webster who settled down and joined us.

I love the transformation from a shy skittish scared kitty to this:
